Call for Mural Artists

                                                                Foley Main Street’s Cat Alley has reached its second phase and we are putting out this call for artists for three new murals. The three murals will depict various aspects of Foley’s History.  Submissions can be sent in for one or all of the doors.  There could be one artist chosen for all the doors, or a separate artist for each of the doors.

Artists must have mural experience and will be expected to send samples of their work. A sketch, painting and/or color guide of concept must be provided with submission. All artwork and ideas will remain the property of the artist unless chosen for the door murals.

Submissions are due By end of day Friday, October 20^th. The artists chosen will be contacted October 29^th.  Weather permitting, we would like the murals done by Dec 2, 2023 for Downtown Foley’s Christmas Open House.

There will be three door areas –

One – football theme representing the diversity of Foley Football on a single wood door 7’ X 6’8” (47.6 sq ft);

Two – representing  Barin field – old planes on a large wooden area which has a door at the bottom center -12’ X 14’ (168 sq ft); and

Three – 48 sq feet two metal doors, with concrete ramps and overhangs – depicting old phones and gladiolus.

Each mural must have a cat hidden in it. The compensation will be: Area One -  $1,000; Area Two - $3,300 and Area Three  $2,500.00.

All areas will be cleaned beforehand. Artists will be responsible for prepping surface to paint on and then cover final artwork with a graffiti proof sealant.
