While the traditional holiday season may still be months away, Foley Main Street is proving it’s never too early for a little festive cheer.
DOWNTOWN FOLEY, AL – While the traditional holiday season may still be months away, Foley Main Street is proving it’s never too early for a little festive cheer. On Thursday, July 16th, Downtown Foley will be open for a special “Christmas in July” Third Thursday event.
As shoppers increasingly look to get a head start on their holiday lists, Foley Main Street is leaning into the trend by turning their monthly Third Thursday into a great opportunity to get started early.. This July celebration marks the beginning of a new tradition for the downtown district, Christmas in July.
“We all know people are starting their Christmas shopping earlier and earlier, so we thought, why not July?” said Darrelyn Dunmore, Executive Director of Foley Main Street. “We’re inviting everyone to celebrate the season with a summer twist—think tropical vibes, cool drinks, and a very special guest from the North Pole.
Event Highlights Include:
Summer Santa Photo Op: Forget the heavy velvet suit! A beach-ready, credible Santa will be stationed downtown for photos, offering a unique tropical holiday memory.
Tropical Elves on Shelves: Keep an eye out for sun-loving Elves making appearances throughout the downtown area.
Holiday Crafting: Macaroni Kid has partnered with the event to sponsor and host a Christmas ornament decorating station for children and families.
Giving Back: In the true spirit of the season, we are partnering with Family Promise to provide warmth and care to local children entering shelters. Visitors will be able to donate at participating businesses toward children’s comfort kits to help make a difficult transition a little brighter.
Music will be rocking at Fish River Gallery, Mamma Mia’s Pizzeria, the West Orange Avenue Courtyard and Scuttlebutt Pub. Visitors can enjoy participating businesses' "Naughty or Nice" discounts and drawings, and special treats and offers.
“We want to give people a reason to explore our beautiful downtown, support our local shops, and have a little mid-summer fun without the stress of the actual holiday rush,” added Darrelyn Dunmore.
