Downtown Foley Announces October Third Thursday “The Prowl” & Community-Wide Black Cat Hunt
Stroll historic downtown during an evening of extended shopping and local specials, while launching into a two-week scavenger hunt to find seven hidden cats and a chance to win a hundred dollar gift certificate..
Downtown Foley warmly invites residents, families, and visitors to step out and experience the magic of an autumn evening during the upcoming October Third Thursday celebration, affectionately titled The Prowl. Scheduled for Thursday, October 15, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, The Prowl serves as Foley's signature Third Thursday monthly evening out, offering the perfect opportunity to slow down, meet friendly neighborhood shop owners, and enjoy a vibrant night out with friends and family. Guests can explore new arrivals at local shops, relax over dinner or drinks, special merchant promotions and immerse themselves in downtown hospitality,
Adding to the excitement of the evening, The Prowl also marks the official kickoff of the downtown-wide Black Cat Hunt. While The Prowl takes place exclusively on the evening of October 15, the Black Cat Hunt is a separate, interactive scavenger hunt that invites exploration from opening night all the way through midnight on Halloween, October 31.
Throughout the hunt window, seven whimsical black cats will be hidden inside businesses across Downtown Foley. Participants of all ages can join the pursuit for free using the mobile-friendly Downtown Foley Passport. To take part, players simply navigate to the passport via mobile device at www.foleymainstreet.com, locate the Black Cat Hunt tab, and visit participating merchants across the district. Upon finding a hidden feline, visitors check in through the digital passport and submit the cat's specific name to earn 50 points per location.
Those who successfully track down and check in all seven cats before the clock strikes midnight on October 31 will automatically be entered into a grand prize drawing for a hundred dollar Downtown Foley Gift Certificate. The prize certificate is redeemable at more than twenty participating downtown retailers, dining establishments, and service businesses.
“Third Thursday is always a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together, stroll our historic streets, and discover the unique businesses that make Foley so special”, said Darrelyn Dunmore, Executive Director. “The Prowl is an invitation to spend quality time downtown enjoying our evening atmosphere, and kicking off the Black Cat Hunt alongside it gives families and visitors an extra, playful reason to explore our local shops all month long while earning rewards along the way.” Foley Main Street will have a table at Dorothy June Booksellers handing out orange glow necklaces from 4:30 - 7 pm and to help people with accessing their passports.
