Downtown Foley Kicks Off “Hello Summer” Third Thursday with Launch of New Interactive Passport and Patriotic 250th Celebration
Downtown Foley is ready to sizzle this season!
FOLEY, AL – Downtown Foley is ready to sizzle this season! On Thursday, June 18, Foley Main Street invites the community to the “Hello Summer” Third Thursday—an evening of shopping, dining, and discovery. This month’s event marks the official launch of the Downtown Foley Passport, a brand-new way for visitors to explore the city, support local businesses, and win prizes.
As the nation prepares to celebrate its 250th birthday, Downtown Foley is joining the festivities early. Visitors to participating Third Thursday businesses will be greeted with patriotic spirit, featuring red, white, and blue pinwheels and exclusive patriotic tote bags.
Stop by the Foley Main Street booth at Yabba’s Wacky Snack Shack at 100 West Laurel Ave to kick off your journey. The first 50 participants to activate their Downtown Foley Passports will receive a commemorative, large-capacity patriotic Downtown Foley tote bag.
Points, Prizes, and a "Third Thursday" Secret
The Passport makes supporting local businesses more rewarding than ever. These points can be accumulated and exchanged for gifts and gift certificates from Downtown Foley. On Third Thursdays, every stop made at a participating business during the "Hello Summer" event (June 18) or the "Christmas in July" event (July 16) earns 25 passport points. The secret? You can earn Third Thursday points all year long. The tours and hunts are geo based. You need to be at the location during the passport event to “check in” for points.
Introducing the “American Classics” Tour
To honor America’s 250th milestone, the June Passport challenge features a month-long "American Classics" tour. Starting June 18 at the "Hello Summer" event, participants can pick up their Downtown Foley Passport and embark on a 28-day downtown adventure. For every stop made on the "American Classics" tour, participants earn 50 points every time they eat at one of the establishments. This tour contains restaurants and stops where you can enjoy these all American Classic treats;
- Crispy fried chicken and juicy hamburgers
- All-American hot dogs
- Refreshing ice cream and salty, buttery popcorn
Event Timeline
The "American Classics" tour runs for 28 days, kicking off at "Hello Summer" on June 18 and concluding at 7:00 PM on July 16 during the "Christmas in July" Third Thursday celebration.
